Editorial and testing policy
How Persian Spoon researches culinary sources, explains adaptations, credits photographs and corrects recipes.
Sources and independent writing
We consult Persian-language and English culinary sources, identify relevant references, and write explanations in our own words. We distinguish a supplier's product description from a general culinary rule and preserve meaningful regional or household differences.
A citation is not permission to copy a source's writing or photographs. Reading several recipes does not make another author's expressive text free to reproduce. Our added material focuses on product-form decisions, explicit substitution limits, source comparison and practical navigation.
Review and corrections
Before publishing, we check that quantities, ingredients, cooking steps and references form a coherent recipe and that important warnings are clear.
Updated recipes are checked for consistency. Pages with unresolved source, method, safety or permission concerns may be held back until corrected.
Adapting a recipe
Cooking results vary with equipment, ingredient brands and preparation choices. Use described texture and temperature cues, and make substitutions deliberately instead of assuming identical results.
Changes to ingredients can affect taste, texture and cooking behavior. We do not invent universal replacement ratios or nutrition values. Follow the instructions and allergen information on the actual products you use, and follow authoritative food-safety guidance rather than relying only on appearance.
Images and attribution
Published images have recorded sources, creators and stated licenses or permission, with required attribution. Source-declared permission is not an independent ownership guarantee.
Images help readers recognize ingredients and dishes. Where licensed photographs are used, creator, source and license attribution appears with the image. The written recipe describes the method to follow.
